What I treat

Choosing a treatment is only one part of Cancer care.

I treat solid tumours and blood Cancers using chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, hormonal therapy and newer Cancer treatments when appropriate.

But my role is to look at the complete picture: the Cancer, its stage and biology, your overall health, previous treatments, your priorities, and how treatment may affect your everyday life.

My approach to Cancer care

I believe every treatment decision deserves a reason.

Cancer treatment is rarely about choosing one medicine from a list. Before recommending treatment, I look at:

The diagnosis

What exactly is the diagnosis, and has the disease been staged correctly?

The goal

What is the goal of treatment, and which options are supported by current evidence?

Surgery & radiation

Would surgery or radiation, delivered by other specialists, add benefit?

Molecular testing

Is molecular or genetic testing relevant to this particular Cancer and situation?

Your overall health

What other medical conditions need to be considered alongside the Cancer?

Quality of life

How will the treatment affect quality of life, and what matters most to you and your family?

I then explain the options, their expected benefits and possible side effects, so that we can make the decision together.

Personalised care

Treatment is personal. Evidence still matters.

Two people with the same type of Cancer may not always need the same treatment. Age, stage, tumour biology, previous treatments, other medical conditions and personal priorities can all change the decision.

I use established guidelines, current clinical evidence and multidisciplinary discussion to personalise treatment without losing sight of what is practical and meaningful for the person receiving it. Where molecular testing or newer targeted treatments can change the options, I incorporate them into the plan.

Beyond the treatment prescription

Cancer affects more than the scan.

Treatment can affect appetite, sleep, energy, emotions, work, relationships and family life. I believe these concerns deserve attention alongside the Cancer treatment itself.

Where needed, I coordinate care with nutrition specialists, psychologists, palliative-care teams, rehabilitation professionals and other specialists, so that patients and families receive support throughout treatment.

Understanding a treatment plan

Are we on the right path, and are there any other reasonable options?

Some people are unsure about a recommendation, find that treatment has stopped working, or have been given several options and want to understand whether another approach is possible.

Questions like these are answered by reviewing the diagnosis, pathology, imaging, previous treatments and available evidence carefully. Reviewing a plan does not mean changing it.

Precision oncology, when it matters

Modern Cancer treatment increasingly uses the biology of the tumour

Depending on the Cancer and clinical situation, I may recommend biomarker testing, next-generation sequencing, hereditary Cancer testing or liquid biopsy.

These tests are useful when the result can answer a clinical question or potentially change treatment. They are one part of comprehensive Cancer care, not a test that every patient automatically needs.

Clear information. Shared decisions.

Cancer information can feel unfamiliar.

Understanding a diagnosis begins with a few clear questions:

What are we treating?

What are our options?

Why are we choosing this treatment?

What should we expect?

And what happens next?

That clarity is an important part of Cancer care for me.

Common questions

Common questions

Where do you see patients?

My primary practice is at Spashta Healthcare in BTM Layout, South Bengaluru, with morning and evening hours. I am also associated with Aster RV and Aster Whitefield. Spashta Healthcare handles all enquiries.

When I meet my oncologist first, what should I have with me?

Please bring all your reports: biopsy and pathology, scans (CT, MRI, PET-CT) and discs, blood tests, any previous treatment summaries, and any molecular or genomic testing reports. A list of your current medicines is also helpful.

Do you use genomic testing for every patient?

No — genomic and molecular testing is used wherever it is clinically meaningful for your Cancer type and situation. I will explain whether it applies to you, what it can and cannot tell us, and how it would affect your treatment plan.

What do tests and treatment cost?

Costs depend on the tests and treatment involved, and are best discussed directly with Spashta Healthcare, who can also help with insurance and TPA questions. Our patient resources explain what typically affects the cost of Cancer treatment.
