Beyond Cancer treatment
Beyond Cancer treatment: how you live through treatment matters as much as the treatment
Cancer care is about more than the medicines. My approach includes the emotional, nutritional and practical support that helps people cope during treatment and recover well afterwards, coordinated with the right professionals.
Supportive services
Psycho-oncology
Mental-health support, counselling and therapy, help with anxiety and low mood, and coping strategies for patients and families, through referral to psycho-oncology professionals.
Support groups
Patient and caregiver support groups, groups for specific Cancer types, and peer-to-peer connections, so no one goes through it feeling alone.
Nutrition & dietetics
Nutritional counselling, Cancer-specific dietary guidance, managing side effects through nutrition, and long-term wellness plans.
360-degree Cancer care
Integrative approaches used safely alongside treatment, palliative and supportive care for symptom control, and rehabilitation to help restore strength and quality of life.
Some supportive services are provided directly and others through referral to trusted professionals. I will help you access what is right for your situation. This page is general information, not medical advice. Medically reviewed by Dr Sneha Kommineni.
Common questions
Supportive care FAQs
When should I start supportive or palliative care?
As early as it is useful, not only at the end of treatment. Supportive and palliative care can help with symptoms, side effects and quality of life at any stage, alongside active Cancer treatment.
Is palliative care only for advanced Cancer?
No. Palliative care focuses on symptom control and quality of life, and can be appropriate at any stage, not only when Cancer is advanced.
How do I access psycho-oncology or counselling support?
I can refer you to psycho-oncology professionals as part of your care. Ask about it and I will connect you with the right support.
Can I continue normal activities during treatment?
Many patients can, with adjustments. It depends on your treatment, side effects and overall health. I will discuss what is realistic for your situation.
Are support groups available for caregivers too?
Yes. Support groups and peer connections are available for both patients and caregivers, so family members are not going through it alone either.

Ask about support alongside your treatment
Supportive care is part of the plan, not separate from it. If you have queries about support alongside your treatment, I am happy to help you find answers.
